How we check the Tenerife bus facts on this site

Where every time, line and stop on tenerifebus.app comes from, how often it is re-read against TITSA, and what we refuse to print.

Your bus, at a glance

Every bus fact on this site rests on a dated snapshot of an official page: TITSA’s line pages for routes, stops, footnotes and times, Aena’s airport pages for where the stop is, the ferry operators for the La Gomera crossing, and WebTenerife, the Cabildo’s tourism board, for places. The snapshots live in the public repository with a checksum, so anyone can see the page we read and the day we read it. The departure boards are generated from those snapshots, show for 45 days after the read date, and are withdrawn automatically after that until they are read again.

The practical part

The essentials

  1. Read the operator, not a copy of it

Times come from TITSA’s own line pages, saved unchanged with their sha256 and the date. Travel blogs, aggregator apps and our own memory of a previous timetable are not sources here.

  2. Keep the operator’s words

A footnote on a time stays on that trip in TITSA’s Spanish; a trip restricted to working days or Saturdays appears only on those tabs; a stop TITSA leaves untimed is shown without a time. We add no arrival time the operator did not print.

  3. Withdraw before we are wrong

Each board carries the day it was read and the day it stops showing, 45 days later. If a refresh is late, the site builds without the times rather than with stale ones.

What we do not print

Fares, because TITSA changes them without notice. Walking minutes we have not measured. Whether a bus is running right now: a timetable is a plan, and only the operator knows the day. Anything a line page does not say, including stops it does not name.

Where a fact is thin, the page says so

The ferry terminal at Los Cristianos is not named on TITSA’s pages, so the port guide tells you to check the walk. The night line 104 marks some trips as serving Tenerife North, but it is not in the snapshot set, so the airport page does not print it. A footnote TITSA never explains is kept as printed.

Who runs this site

tenerifebus.app is an independent guide by SD2 Studio, the maker of the Tenerife Bus app. It is not TITSA, Aena or the Cabildo, and it earns a commission on some tour and transfer links, which are labelled where they appear.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask

How current are the bus times on this site?

Each board names the day its data was read from TITSA and the day it will be withdrawn, 45 days later. Between those dates TITSA can still change a line; the operator’s own page is cited beside every board for that reason.

Why does the site not show fares?

Because TITSA sets and changes them without notice, and a wrong price costs a reader more than no price. The tickets page says how to pay and where to buy a ten+ card.

Can I report a mistake?

Yes: the contact page has the address. Tell us the page and what you saw on the ground or on TITSA’s page; we check it against a fresh snapshot and correct the site, not the other way round.

The other half of the plan

And the way back.

Before a journey that matters, read the board’s date, then take the bus before the one you need: a timetable is a plan, and the operator’s day may differ.
